For those waiting anxiously for Tata's new crossover, we have some good news to share! Word has it that the Indian auto giant will be launching the Hexa MPV-crossover in the second week of January. Bookings are expected to open around the same time as well.
The Hexa is powered by Tata's potent Varicor400 engine that also does duty in the engine bay of the updated Safari Storme. Power figures are impressive on paper, rated at 156PS and 400Nm. The crossover will also borrow the 6-speed manual gearbox from the SUV, and will have an optional 6-speed automatic transmission as well.
Wait, we aren't done yet. The Hexa will also feature 4x4 along with selectable drive modes that include - Auto, Comfort, Dynamic and Rough-Road. Safety is well taken care off as well: the Hexa is expected to sport eight airbags, anti-lock brakes with EBD and ESP.
Tata's designers have gone to town with the Hexa, and we think it looks nothing short of sinister, especially in a dark shade such as black. The top-spec variants are expected to get goodies such as projector headlamps, daytime running lamps and 19-inch alloy wheels as well. To cement the crossover positioning, there's a generous dose of rugged-looking cladding as well.
The insides are in line with what we've seen in modern-day Tatas such as the Tiago. Bells and whistles include a 10-speaker Harman infotainment system, automatic climate control, leather upholstery and ambient lighting too.
Tata has left no stone unturned in making sure the Hexa is as premium as it can get. We will be driving the all-new Tata pretty soon, so do stay tuned for an in-depth review.
